P!nk Takes No. 1 Spot on Hot Tours Chart, Grosses $23.6 Million

P!nk takes the No. 1 ranking on the weekly Hot Tours tally with gross and attendance counts reported from the first leg of her Truth About Love Tour that launched earlier this year. The totals represented in this week’s recap come from the tour’s North American leg that began on Feb. 13 and wrapped on March 28.  Gross sales for the 21 shows reported this period amount to $23.6 million.  If we include some stray show previously reported in April, overall box office revenue thus far for the Truth About Love Tour comes to $28.3 million from the U.S. and Canadian arenas that hosted the tour during the winter/spring run.

Following the North American jaunt, P!nk took the Truth About Love Tour to Europe, playing 25 cities from April 12 through May 30.  She is about to begin an 11-week run in Australia, and a second leg through North America will kick off in October.

Country legend George Strait lands in the No. 6 slot on Hot Tours with ticket sales reported from a sold out stadium event in his hometown of San Antonio on June 1, the final 2013 date on his Cowboy Rides Away Tour.  With support provided by country stars Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride, Strait’s concert at the Alamodome drew a total of 73,086 fans.  The tour played 18 U.S. arenas and one stadium during its winter/spring run that began on January 18, running through mid-April.  Adding the numbers from the June concert in San Antonio, overall ticket revenue from the tour surpassed the $40 million mark.  Strait will return to the road early next year with the final leg of his farewell tour.

Rod Stewart returns to Hot Tours at No. 8 with the first box office totals reported from his Live the Life Tour that kicked off on June 1 in Nottingham, England at the Capital FM Arena.  Totals from two venues were reported this week, to the tune of $3.1 million. The Nottingham date and a two-show run at Manchester Arena on June 8 and 9.  Stewart’s 2013 tour will hit European markets until early October and then cross the pond for a North American trek through mid-December.
