Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd has released his debut solo track under the name HBS. Hear Baron Robber below.
It’s taken from his album, In Deep Owl, which will be released on August 26. It features drum tracks by Soundgarden bandmate Matt Cameron and ex-Pearl Jam sticksman Matt Chamberlain.
HBS includes the initial of Shepherd’s first name, Hunter, while In Deep Owl refers to a slang name for the neighbourhood he grew up in.
Shepherd recorded the album before Soundgarden went back into action with comeback record King Animal, and the solo project was shelved in the meantime.
