The numbers are in for Yeezy as his 6th solo effort, Yeezus, goes gold. According to the RIAA, Ye’s album exceeded the gold cap for reaching 500k units. For those who are familiar, June 18th was also the same release of Grown Simba’s Born Sinner, Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off & also, Statik Selektah’s Extended Play. J. Cole’s album did sell more than Ye’s during the first week, but Ye surpassed him in terms of overall sales.
