Kanye West gave his first television interview in three years yesterday to a familiar face: Entertainment Weekly reports that West sat down with Kris Jenner, host of the new talk show Kris, to talk about his relationship with Jenner’s daughter, Kim Kardashian, their baby daughter North and the the pressures of fame and the media. The interview will air Friday.

West’s last television interview went painfully awry in 2010 during an appearance on The Today Show when Matt Lauer addressed the rapper’s statement, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” and later showed a clip of him interrupting Taylor Swift’s 2009 VMA acceptance speech. West grew increasingly testy before going off the deep end.
West is also set to perform at this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
