Soon after a video surfaced of Bishop Nehru receiving praise and advice from Kendrick Lamar, Nehru spoke with HipHopDX about how the situation came to be.
“I was chilling after the [kendrick Lamar] show at Williamsburg Park [in New York] in my trailer,” Nehru said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “Then I went outside. Kendrick’s manager was outside too and [he] told me to follow him. Went to the TDE trailer and was just chilling there for a bit.”
Nehru said Kendrick Lamar is one of very few artists that he listens to.
“It was cool knowing one of the very few artists I listen to listens to me as well,” Nehru said. “Kendrick’s a real chill dude.”

While his appreciation for Kendrick Lamar is apparent, Nehru is also set to work with another notable emcee.
“Next up I have a project with MF DOOM coming up,” Nehru said to HipHopDX. “That’s what’s in the works right now.”
The Nehru and DOOM collaborative project was announced August 9. Details on the collection are scarce at the moment, thought it has been reported that the effort will be released via LEX Records.
