Kanye West's Yeezus tour draws just 4,500 fans to 19,000-seat arena

Kanye West has been going hell for leather in the past couple of months, taking his interview tour from state to state while his Yeezus stage show tags on behind like the weird neighbourhood kid you just can’t shake off.

On Tuesday night the Yeezus tour pulled up in Kansas City, Missouri, for a show at the 19-000 capacity Sprint Center, but as the Kansas City Star reports, it seems that only around 4,500 fans claimed their seat for spectacle, which includes an exploding mountain and a cameo from Jesus.

The Star’s reviewer suggests that Ye’s very public love life, his frequent outbursts and his shift away from conventional hip-hop may have alienated fans, but it seems just as likely that concertgoers simply can’t afford the tickets, which have varied in price from around $50 to $200 or more. Get a glimpse of the Yeezus tour here.

Earlier this week, Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip let slip that he will produce Kanye’s next album along with Yeezus overseer Rick Rubin. [via AHH]
