BeautifulNow is a new website where people can discover, create, and share beautiful things happening in the world right now. BeautifulNow and The Sound Agency have teamed up for “The Most Beautiful Sound In The World” competition, powered by SoundCloud.
Beauty can be hard to find because there is such a plethora of ugliness, negativity, and mediocrity. BeautifulNow is the only place online where you can find beautiful content created and curated by both the community and editorial staff across 6 key genres, including Arts/Design, Food/Drink, Nature/Science, Mind/Body, Place/Time (travel), and Soul/Impact.
“Not everyone agrees on what is beautiful, but beauty is important, in one form or another, to us all. It’s part of what makes us human,” said Shira White, BeautifulNow founder. “BeautifulNow is exciting because we offer an immersive community experience where you can always expect to find something cutting edge and stunningly beautiful.” BeautifulNow welcomes people who create and people who appreciate beauty into the BeautifulNow community. On BeautifulNow you can:
● Discover new beauty every day, with fresh content in the BeautifulNow Daily Fix, featuring curated-for-beauty news, muse, images, and ideas.
● Create beautiful content and enter it in weekly themed BeautifulNow creative competitions. The BN community votes for the Most BeautifulNow Winner each week.
● Share ideas, comments, and interests with each other, as well as with guests, artists, and thought leaders in the BeautifulNow Share forum. The BeautifulNow winning competition entries will be compiled at the end of the year and published in BN2013, the site’s first annual large-format artbook series. Winners will also be featured in a New York City gallery group show.

Composer Rahman Altin discusses his work on Director Yilmaz Erdogan’s newest film, The Butterfly’s Dream.
The Butterfly’s Dream centers on two young poets in the 1940s of Turkey who make a bet on a pretty girl. Whoever’s poem the girl likes will win, and the other will step aside. The poets however have to deal with other problems like disease, poverty, compulsory work in the mines and the Second World War in the meantime. As the story unravels, the poets travel through cities and events in search of happiness. Is it the optimist who’s the bravest or the pessimist? This story will tell.
