A$AP Rocky is being sued by a fan who claims she was injured at a concert in Chicago two years ago.
The Chicago Sun Times reports that a lawsuit has been filed by Tia Butts, who claims she was injured by a stagediver at the gig.
Butts claims that her neck, head and back were severely wounded at the concert, which took place at Chicago’s House Of Blues in 2012.
The Chicago woman, aged 21, says she is unsure who it was that jumped into the crowd and landed on her – but believes it was one of the artists performing onstage. She is filing a lawsuit against everyone involved in the organisation of the gig, charging each of them $50,000 (£29,000).
As well as A$AP Rocky and the venue, RSV Gallery, LLC, Live Nation Worldwide, Ticketmaster Entertainment and support act Been Trill have all been named in the legal case. The suit states that the defendants “neglected to maintain a safe environment for the patrons”.
“Who is to say a hip-hop concert has to be more aggressive than, say, a performance at the Civic Opera House?” says Butts’ lawyer, Jonathan Schlack.
A$AP Rocky’s next project will be a new instrumental album he is releasing titled ‘Beauty And The Beast – Slowed Down Sessions Ch 1’ The album was originally due to be released in 2013 but will now come out at some point in 2014 with the Harlem MC previewing two new songs from it earlier this year.
