Jessie Ware will release her much-anticipated second album next month, and today she unveiled another track from the record called “Want Your Feeling,” the British singer’s collaboration with Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes. Tough Love, the follow-up to Ware’s 2012 breakthrough Devotion, will be released stateside on October 21. Hynes, who as Pitchfork reports was the one who announced the track’s arrival, also noted on Twitter that if you preorder Tough Love on iTunes now, you’ll receive “Want Your Feeling” as a free download immediately.
This sultry, quiet storm track was produced by James Ford, the Simian Mobile Disco member who has also worked on Haim’s Days Are Gone and nearly every Arctic Monkeys album. Over on Ware’s SoundCloud page, the singer has also posted three more Tough Love cuts, the title track, “Share It All,” and “Say You Love Me,” which she wrote with fellow British crooner Ed Sheeran. Earlier this year, Ware appeared on Chance the Rapper’s odd cover of the Arthur theme song, his tribute to the PBS kids show.
When Rolling Stone spoke to Ware in January 2013, following the release of Devotion, she admitted she hadn’t yet started on the follow-up album because she didn’t have anything to write about. “I need to do a bit more living, have a few more experiences. But you know what I’m really struggling with? I have a really lovely relationship with my boyfriend, and so I wouldn’t want to write a new album full of how great he is,” Ware told Rolling Stone. “That’d be boring.” Ware and her boyfriend are now engaged, but the singer still managed to squeeze out enough material for a new record.
