Just a few days after wrapping up the North American leg of his solo arena tour, Ed Sheeran hit Las Vegas on Saturday night for the iHeartRadio Music Festival with a short set featuring a special guest.

As Billboard reports, halfway through Sheeran’s five-song set, Macklemore joined the British singer-songwriter onstage for a performance of Macklemore’s own hit, “Same Love.” Sheeran backed up Macklemore on guitar and took on the vocal hook originally recorded by Mary Lambert on the gay-rights anthem, while the rapper delivered a passionate rendition of his verses from the Heist track.

Elsewhere in the set, Sheeran mashed up his bitter break-up single “Don’t,” from his recent album X, with Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Chris Brown’s “Loyal” (from the latter’s similarly-titled new album). He’d previously worked the Blackstreet addition into the song during his show at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, which he closed out with a different surprise guest in the form of Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody, who had joined him on “Chasing Cars.”

Sheeran’s X tour takes him back to the U.K. next, with a stop at London’s iTunes Festival on September 29th. As for Macklemore, it was his second surprise appearance of the day. Earlier, he joined Fences during their set to perform “Arrow.”
