Kendrick Lamar I Cover Art

Fans have been foaming at the mouth for Kendrick Lamar’s new track “i.”

First, artwork was shared and a release date for the song was made public, which is rare. Then, there were fake snippets being shared around the web, which sounded dope, but didn’t meet the criterion and seemed fishy. On Monday, MTV spilled the beans on which soul sample (the Isley Brothers’ “That Lady”) the record would feature – an offering we can’t remember being reported about any song prior. As a result of these things and more, anticipation was high for Dot to deliver.

Thankfully, just as zombies in backpacks were about to break through the walls outside TSS headquarters, TDE released the stream for “i” early in the morning so fans wouldn’t have to wait all day. Before over-analyzing each nuance, keep in mind the first listens are the ones that matter least when considering Kendrick.

With all that said, press play and enjoy. Try it, like it, buy it on iTunes.
