Bruce Springsteen is to release a lush new box set that compiles his first seven albums.

‘Bruce Springsteen: The Album Collection Vol. 1 1973-1984’ will be remastered by respected engineers Bob Ludwig and Toby Scott, in conjunction with the artist himself. The LPs have been newly transferred from original analogue masters using the Plangent Process playback system.

The set will also feature a 60-page book featuring vintage press clippings, photos and other memorabilia from the first 11 years of The Boss’s long recording career. It is scheduled for release on November 17.

Included will be much of the work that has come to define the New Jersey native, including 1973 debut ‘Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.’, his breakthrough album ‘Born to Run’, and acclaimed acoustic effort ‘Nebraska’. The collection will be available to purchase on CD, vinyl or digital download. None of the seven records have been remastered on wax before.

Meanwhile, Springsteen – who yesterday (September 23) celebrated his 65th birthday – is set to release a graphic novel in November. The book is based on the lyrics to his 2009 song ‘Outlaw Pete’, which featured on his ‘Working On A Dream’ album and was itself inspired by the 1950 children’s book Brave Cowboy Bill.
