Neil Young will release a new album, called ‘Storeytone’, this November.
The release will see the iconic rocker backed by a 92-piece orchestra. It will be his second LP of the year, following ‘A Letter Home’, his album recorded in the vintage vinyl booth at Jack White’s Third Man Records store in Nashville. It is thought that it will feature ‘Who’s Gonna Stand Up?’, which he recently released to coincide with the People’s Climate Marches around the world over the weekend.
Young originally posted a live recording of the song, taken from a gig in Liverpool from July. He later shared a different version of the song recorded with the orchestra and explained that he wants the song to be used by protestors in their communications on the subject of climate change.
“This is how I feel about what is going on in OUR world. You can learn here,” Young wrote. “I’m giving you permission to please use this music in videos, clips and communications, or in any way you see fit during this critical time. I hope this music can assist you in the important work we do to reach out for understanding and action in the world.”
