Taylor Swift

The Grammy Museum will say happy birthday to Taylor Swift with a new exhibit dedicated to her music that will open Dec. 13, her 25th birthday, and run through May 10.

“The Taylor Swift Experience” will include items she is loaning to the museum, including hand-written lyrics for her hit “22,” costumes from her “Red” tour, the banjo (actually a guitar-banjo hybrid called a “ganjo”) she played on the Grammy telecast in 2012, outfits she wore in the videos for “Mean” and “Teardrops on My Guitar,” as well as props from her recent “Shake It Off” video.

Visitors also will be able to peruse family photos and home videos never previously exhibited, books she read as a child, the Grammy Award she won in 2009 for country female vocal performance for “White Horse” and other items.

The exhibit also will feature interactive elements that will allow viewers a hands-on exploration of different facets of her career.

Swift’s latest album, “1989,” became the fastest-selling album in a dozen years by selling nearly 1.3 million copies in its first week of release. Swift also made history by becoming the first female artist in history to replace herself in the No. 1 slot of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart when “Blank Space,” the second single from “1989,” took over the top of the chart from the album’s lead single, “Shake It off.”

The Grammy Museum is at 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Suite A245, Los Angeles. Tickets and additional information are available at the museum’s official website.
