Turns out athletes and celebrities aren’t the only ones cashing in on brand endorsements with soda drink companies such as Pepsi and Coca Cola pouring millions into partnering up with ‘EDM’ stars according to Billboard.
This year alone trance guy Tiesto who recently starred in a cringy Terry Richards shoot scored a healthy $30 million in a single sponsorship deal with 7up outside of his usual earnings that Forbes estimates to be roughly at $28 million meaning the Dutchman is sitting pretty atop of his mound of money.
What we expect Tiesto gets up to in his free time
In an effort to put into perspective this collosal figure we came up with five things you could have bought with Tiesto’s ‘soda sponsorship’ cash alone.
1. 1936 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic
Regarded as the rarest and most beautiful cars in the world, the 1936 Bugatti 57sC Atlantic is one of just two remaining in the world (Ralph Lauren has the other one). The one pictured above recently sold for a cool $30,000,000 to the Mullin Automotive Museum in California after being held in storage for over 40 years. It’s panels are magnesium and the design far ahead of its time.
2. The World or World Islands in Dubai
This artificial archipelago designed into the shape of the world can be found in Dubai and for a hefty sum of $30 million just one could be yours. You had better be quick though with most of the islands already snapped up and only two remaining even after reports of the ocean taking back the islands via erosion
3. Naming 1.5 million stars
We’ve all felt a little special squinting into the stars and naming one of the bastards (that’s probably already gone by then) but what’s a single shining light when you could name a whole 1.5 million instead? According to starnamer.net you can do just that!
4. Whole lot of copies of “Sandstorm” by Darude
At its current price of $1.29 on iTunes for the original (and best) version of “Sandstorm” by Darude, you’d be able to pick up roughly 23,255,813 copies of the techno sensation’s hit. Maybe he can just start playing that in his sets instead?
5. Three million malaria nets for families in Africa
GOOD DEED ALERT: Cool, so if Tiesto wanted to be the ultra nice guy he is, he could actually purchase 3 million malaria nets for families in Africa to help stop the spread of the disease. Hell even if he bought just one million there would be some seriously good karma coming his way and you know, a good chance to help people in need?
What will he actually spend it on? Who knows…
