Louisa Wendorff

Taylor Swift isn’t just topping multiple Billboard charts with her own music. Now, she’s spurred a No. 1 for another artist.

Reinforcing the impact of a tweet by Swift to her more than 50 million Twitter followers, Nashville singer/songwriter Louisa Wendorff debuts at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Heatseekers Albums chart with her EP Arrow, first released in July. (The list ranks the top-selling albums, according to Nielsen Music, by acts that have yet to reach the Billboard 200‘s top half, among other qualifiers.) Up 1,515 percent to 3,000 copies sold, the title also enters Folk Albums at No. 6. The appearances mark Wendorff’s first on Billboard rankings.

The catalyst for the bows? On Dec. 27, Swift tweeted “OBSESSED” and linked to Wendorff’s YouTube mashup of Swift’s “Blank Space” and “Style,” performed with Devin Dawson. (The cover is not on Arrow.) As of Jan. 7, Swift’s endorsement had been retweeted approximately 17,000 times.

Wendorff, who’s planning to release new material this year, beamed back on Twitter on Dec. 31. “so thank you, @taylorswift13, for giving me the highlight of my 2014 right at the buzzer.

“I’m so blessed for what @taylorswift13 did for me,” she added. “Because of her, now I get to know all of YOU! lets make 2015 awesome, shall we?”
