Dust La Rock, one of the co-founders of Fool’s Gold Records, has passed away.
Although the cause of his passing is unknown, A-Trak, who started the label alongside La Rock and Nick Catchdubs in 2007, confirmed the news on Twitter last night.
Real name Joshua Prince, he was Fool’s Gold’s creative director and chief designer from 2007 to 2012, as well as providing artistic work for Duck Sauce, the collaborative project of A-Trak and Armand van Helden.
As displayed on his website, Prince created the artwork for Kid Cudi’s ‘Day ‘N’ Nite’, ‘What Up Y’all’ by Crookers and Duck Sauce’s ‘Greatest Hits’.
Artists and labels have been paying tribute on social media, including the likes of Nick Catchdubs, Chromeo and AC Slater.
