In a new announcement from the BBC, Annie Mac has been confirmed as the new presenter of Radio 1’s weekday evening show.

The current host is Zane Lowe, who will be leaving on March 5 to go work for Apple in America.

Annie Mac will continue to do her Friday evening show which kicks off the weekend, but she’ll step down from doing her Musical Hot Water Bottle show on Sunday evenings.

On the new developments, Annie said:

“I am so excited and humbled to be asked to do this show. The thing I love about music radio is those private epiphanies it provides. Having eleven hours of airtime a week to share those moments with music that has no boundaries, is beyond a job, it’s a privilege.”
