NME Live – a free mobile app devoted to live music news and reviews – launches today (April 11) on the new Google Currents platform.
NME is the first music brand to launch on the service, which allows users to receive magazine-like editions of their chosen publication to their tablet and smartphone for high-speed offline reading.
The service launches in the UK today and is available to download now. Similar in style to Flipboard – the popular social media aggregation app for Apple devices – it is available on any mobile device, through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Emily Hutchings, Publishing Director of NME, said: “On NME, we’re constantly striving to make our services more innovative, more powerful and more usable. Google Currents is yet another way in which our audience of avid music fans can connect with their favourite music brand, keeping them up to date with everything that’s happening in live music on a daily basis. We want to be everywhere our users want us to be and our new Live edition on Currents allows us to do just this.”
NME Live will be updated daily and will feature the latest tour news, festival line-up announcements, and gig reviews from all over the world. You can watch the trailer for Google Currents below:
