Music streamers, under fire from labels and publishers demanding more revenue from free ad-supported listening, are working feverishly to finding better ways to attract and retain sponsors. Today Rdio unveiled a new brand offering, Promoted Music Experiences.

Music streaming service Rdio has launched Promoted Music Experiences (PMEs) with The Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos as it first brand partner.

The PMEs package promotes listener engagement with brands through three Rdio features:

  • Branded Stations: Rdio’s in-house curation team will collaborate with adv partners to create a stations that will be promoted to Rdio listeners on both their free, ad-supported radio service and paid subscriptions.
  • Branded Profiles: Ad partners can customize their profiles which will display featured content developed in collaboration with Rdio curators.
  • Branded Home Stories: Curated stations, custom artwork and company information will be integrated into Home, Rdio’s personalized feed of music recommendations and promoted on the free, ad-supported service.

The Hard Rock branded stations with be curated by the chains team of VIBE managers and music experts.  The partnership is part of a yearlong agreement between the two companies with additional corporate partners to be announced.
