Zedd, Anton Zaslavski, Ultra Music Festival

Dance music superstar Zedd recently took to Twitter to voice his opinion on age restrictions at concerts.

After announcing that his show dates in Miami and Orlando lowered the age minimum to be 16+, he followed with a semi-lengthy defense on why people of all ages should be allowed to attend his performances.

Age requirement at shows has been a controversial and sensitive topic, specifically within dance music, due to the amount of drug-related deaths that have plagued festivals over the years.

Back in 2014, Ultra Music Festival imposed the rule that all festival attendees must be 18 + in order to “reinforce and promote the safety of all Ultra Music Festival fans and to ensure the overall enjoyment of all future attendees”.

Zedd has made his stance clear on the tricky topic, but will have to continue to abide by city rules as it is their legislators that make the final call.
