Music Business Worldwide is launching a new monthly series of special features profiling the most successful and exciting artist managers on planet earth.
‘The World’s Greatest Managers’ will be supported by Centtrip Music, and follows on from the recent introduction of MBW’s popular ‘World’s Greatest Songwriters’ feature.
Well-known for working with artists, managers and music businesses to help get them an optimum currency exchange deal, Centtrip says it aims to “reduce the friction, headaches and costs associated with international payments and expenditure”.
The World’s Greatest Managers series kicks off in a few days’ time with an interviewee who truly fits the bill: Bill Curbishley, founder of Trinifold Management and long-term manager of The Who and Judas Priest.
Throughout his colorful career, Curbishley has also managed the likes of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and worked with many industry greats across the UK and US businesses.
“The power and influence in today’s music industry seems to be in a continual shift towards artists and their direct representatives,” said MBW editor Tim Ingham.
“The World’s Greatest Managers isn’t just a much-deserved celebration of the best in their field – it’s an opportunity to pass on pearls of wisdom to the next generation of managers from those who’ve been there and done it on the biggest stage possible.”
Tony North, Co-Founder and CEO of Centtrip Music, said: “Centtrip is delighted to be able to support this new initiative with MBW. We already work closely with some of the world’s greatest managers and have seen first-hand the amazing job they do for their clients and how they are instrumental in pushing forward innovation in the music industry.
“Artist managers are thought leaders and having an opportunity to hear the thoughts of the very best in this new series will be both educational and inspirational.”
