In the never-ending quest to keep our ear buds satisfied, Spotify has emerged as a leader in bringing the social graph to the music listening experience. And with the introduction of Spotify Apps in November, developers were given the option to create new and exciting ways to make that experience even better.
The result? A host of great apps that will enhance how you discover music. Here are six we like.
1. We are Hunted – The science of social music, We are Hunted pulls in sentiment data from social media, blogs, P2P networks, and message boards to create a playlist of the 99 most talked about songs from emerging and mainstream artists.
2. The Complete Collection – The biggest beef with digital music has been the decline of album art. Revisit classic liner notes from Bob Marley, U2, 2pac and more next to the music that inspired them thanks to the The Complete Collection.
3. Billboard Top Charts – Stay connected with what’s charting on Billboard this week with the Billboard Hot 100, 200, and individual genre charts pulled together in their own playlists.
4. Fellody – Single? Use the Fellody app to find potential dates based on your music preferences and filter results by age, result, or even location. Find your musical soul mate and send a flirt to get things grooving.
5. Tweetvine – The lovechild of a few NY Music Hack Day attendees, this app pulls together a playlist of all tracks tagged #nowplaying on Twitter to create a real-time radio with what’s truly Now Playing.
