Indiewire reports that the Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic Dirty White Boy, directed by Joaquín Baca-Asay, just got some new stars: the Wu-Tang Clan will play themselves in the film. There’s no official word on which specific members will appear in the movie, but the NY Daily News postulates that GZA, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Method Man are on board. They’re joining Michael K. Williams (Omar from “The Wire”), who plays ODB. UPDATE: GZA’s representative writes, “Spoke to GZA today. I will tell you 100% he is not appearing in the ODB / Jarred Weisfeld movie. I can’t speak for the rest of the group, but definitely not true about GZA.”
Explaining the casting decision to the Daily News, Williams said, “[We] have no desire to cast any actors as the Wu-Tang. We need all hands on deck.”
