Earlier this week, Azealia Banks unleashed her second music video for“Liquorice,” a cut off her EP 1991. Now Noisey takes us behind the scenes as Yung Rapunxel transforms into a cowgirl and prepares for a showdown in the desert with a horse, hot dog, and guns.
After launching her career with the viral sensation “212,” Banks ups the ante, calling on director Rankin and Lady Gaga’s stylist Nicola Formichetti, who put together high-end looks mixed with some of her own clothing.
She was able to execute her vision thanks to a bigger budget. “We can’t do another $50 video, so let’s come up with something that’s gonna look like somemoney,” said Banks.
When it comes to her rapid rise to fame, she admits, “I actually thought it would happen sooner.”
