It seems as though the 40/40 Club chain has had its fair share of problems. Recently, the club has decided to follow through with a lawsuit against Michael Shand for failure to revamp menu in re-opening. For those who are unfamiliar, he was the personal chef to Beyonce and Jay for many years before being asked to come aboard as head chef for the club. The lawsuit claims that Shand “failed to perform on significant aspects” of the agreement, which ended up “costing the club lost profits, loss of good will [and] alienation of clientele.”

Michael Shand’s lawyer had this to say in response to the 1.5 million dollar lawsuit:

“Mike’s a great chef, and it is unclear why 40/40 would contemplate a lawsuit against him. Nevertheless, we will respond accordingly when he gets served with the complaint.”
