He explains that he grew up in the recording business and went to school for electrical engineering. A degree in electrical engineering gave him a different approach to being an engineer. Mr. Hewitt recommends taking any kind of music lessons in order to give you background in theory and harmony because it is an important tool to have in engineering. He also recommends doing internships and being in the studio whenever possible. Time in the studio is key to learning how to be an engineer.
