XIX Entertainment and Idol franchise creator Simon Fuller is reportedly set to make a bid for Parlophone. Label Group with Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and a number of private equity investors. Fuller is interested in the entire package of UMG divestments that are now grouped under the PLG banner as part of the concessions demanded by the EU in return for OK’ing the EMI acquisition. The British entrepreneur, artist manager and TV producer’s personal wealth is estimated at £375m.
