Jay-Z launches Facebook game 'Empire' based on his own life

Fancy being one of the richest rappers in the world? A $460 million fortune tickle your fancy? Wouldn’t mind shacking up with Beyonce? Well, here’s your chance, at least in the virtual world anyway, as Jay-Z is set to launch a new Facebook game based on the rags-to-riches tale of his own life.

The game Empire is still in the testing stage at present, according to Complex. However, this is the description of the game:

Empire takes you on a journey from the streets of Marcy Housing in Brooklyn to the hotspots of the rich and famous: from hustler, to entrepreneur, to business mogul. But don’t forget friends and family, or your karma will suffer.

Jay-Z grew up in housing projects in Brooklyn before becoming a global hip-hop star and entrepreneur. According to Mashable, Empire gives you points allowing you to move up life’s ladder by visiting your mum, taking part in a rap battle, making a mixtape, or getting a job to pay for new bling.

Once you’ve earned enough points, you can move out of housing projects and into the “hotspots of the rich and famous” in Manhattan.”Make the right choices and the World belongs to you. LIVE THE DREAM,” reads a prompt early in the game.

Last week it was announced that P Diddy had overtaken Jay-Z as the richest hip-hop artist in the world. However, Jay-Z is still worth $460 million thanks to his recent Watch The Throne tour – which will come to the UK at the O2 Arena in London on March 20, as well his lucrative deal with Live Nation, his 40/40 Club chain and cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter.
