During its keynote presentation at WWDC Monday, Apple updated its MacBook line of computers with faster processor, USB 3, and high-definition FaceTime cameras.


MacBook Air


Apple updated the MacBook Air with 3rd generation Core a.k.a. Ivy Bridge processors with Intel turbo boosting, up to 3.2Ghz. The computers can sport up to 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of flash storage, with the ability to read data at 500Mbps, and graphics running up to 60% faster on the computers.

Apple is adding USB 3 to the MacBook Air line, which is 10 times faster than USB 2. There’s a USB port on each side of the computer, which can be used either a USB 2 or 3 port depending on what you want.

FaceTime is also seeing an update on the computer line, now offering 720p high-definition video from the forward-facing camera.

Available today, Apple is offering the 11-inch model starting at $999 and the 13-inch model starting at $1199.


MacBook Pro


The MacBook Pro was also upgraded with 3rd-generation 2.7GHz Ivy bridge processors, turbo boosted up to 3.7GHz. The computers come sporting Nvidia GeForce GT 650m graphics, and are also being updated with USB 3, with ports that can be used for both USB 2 and USB 3.

Priced the same as their predecessors, the updated MacBook Pro computers will be available today starting at $1199 for a 13-inch 500GB model.


The Next Generation MacBook Pro


In addition to updating its existing computers, Apple announced a completely overhauled MacBook Pro it referred to as simple “The Next Generation MacBook Pro.” Measuing in at a mere .71-inches thick, the computer is about as thin as a MacBook Air and is the ligtest MacBook Pro in Apple history.

Sporting a Retina display, the computer a 15.4” 2880 x 1800 screen, making it the world’s highest-resolution notebook display.
