Several recently shuttered AOL Musicproperties including The Boot (country), The BoomBox (hip hop), NoiseCreep (heavy metal) and ComicsAlliance have been acquired by Townsquare Media Group, a portfolio of music and entertainment sites with 52 million unique monthly visitors. In August, Townsquare purchased the MOG network of music blogs after Beats acquired MOG’s music streaming service.

As part of the transaction, members of the AOL Music and ComicsAlliance teams will shift toTownsquare Media. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The acquisition reunites Bill Wilson, Townsquare Media EVP & Chief Digital Officer, with some entertainment properties he launched in 2008 and 2009 as then President of AOL Media.

Existing Townsquare music sites include Taste Of Country, Loudwire, PopCrush, ScreenCrush and OKayplayer.
