Killer week for Team Lipman, as they Walk, don’t run, to the top of the new-release marketshare tally for the week. How’d they do that? By having their Black Sabbath prayers answered, riding their crossover crew Florida Georgia Line (#5) and yucking it up with The Lonely Island (#12) for a combined total of 200k and change. Columbia is next, with a pair of Top 5 albums in #2 Daft Punk and #4 debut Big Time Rush (collectively tallying 83k), but new release J. Cole (via Roc Nation) will enhance next week’s share. Speaking of which, IDJ, currently sitting at #9, will become a contender for next week’s crown behind the ambitious and challenging new effort from Kanye West, with his homie Hova hovering on the horizon. We’re getting way ahead of ourselves, but there’s a reason for that, namely because the rest of the field is in the rearview mirror on this so-so sales week. We suspect you’ll find today’s other marketshare measurement—the Mediabase Midyear airplay chart—more intriguing. [HitsDailyDouble]
