‘Soundscape ecologist’ Bernie Krause has been recording wild soundscapes, the wind in the trees, the chirping of birds, the subtle sounds of insect larvae, for 45 years. Krause was a pioneer of electronic music in the 60′s and 70′s, on his recordings with Paul Beaver, and, more recently, in sound environment recording.
