The Uprising, L.A. and Chicago-Based Eyes & Ears Announce Merger

The Uprising Creative, a Los Angeles-based creative agency, announced today that they have merged with Eyes & Ears Entertainment (E&E), a Chicago-based interactive agency and long-time strategic partner.

Founded in 2009 by Brian Schopfel and Austin Mayer, Eyes & Ears Entertainment rose to prominence by creating interactive digital campaigns to drive awareness around releases for some of the world’s biggest artists. E&E is the force behind Spotify’s first interactive album-app, the A$AP Rocky voicemail campaign where fans could leave the artist an actual voicemail, a Twitter campaign that helped build awareness around Selena Gomez’s “Stars Dance” album, and more.

According to Jeff Nicholas, CEO and co-founder of The Uprising Creative, “this merger allows the newly combined entity to offer a much broader range of integrated creative and interactive services.”

As part of the merger, the former E&E team will be rebranding as The Uprising Creative’s Digital Division, while it’s members have become partners in The Uprising Creative. Part of its senior management team is now focused on overseeing and producing all of the company’s digital and experiential initiatives.

The Uprising Creative’s new digital division will continue to produce the same level of interactive, web and experiential campaigns that has come to be expected from both companies, at the same rates and with the same level of client services, but will now be able to provide an integrated approach and offering of the expanded capabilities of The Uprising Creative, including creative strategy, creative direction, branding, design, and video production.

“This was sort of inevitable,” says Jeff Nicholas. “The team at E&E is amazingly talented and has produced some of the best, most results-driven interactive campaigns we’ve seen over the past couple of years. We’ve collaborated on some massive projects together, including the rollouts for Justin Timberlake and Linkin Park, and it became increasingly obvious that putting our teams together just made sense as we continue towards our mutual goals of developing a new, integrated agency model and the most creative initiatives possible for our clients. We love these guys and we’re thrilled to have them joining our team.”

“The team at The Uprising Creative is amazing,” says Brian Schopfel, Eyes & Ears Entertainment’s co-founder. “This acquisition really gives us an opportunity to take everything we’re doing to a new level and we couldn’t be more excited. Big things to come!”
