Nicki Minaj

Saturday Night Live has announced the musical guests and hosts who will appear on the show throughout the rest of 2014. Nicki Minaj will perform on the December 6th episode with host James Franco, Charli XCX will make her SNL debut on the December 13th with host Martin Freeman, and One Direction will grace the stage on December 20th with host Amy Adams.

Minaj will be promoting her upcoming third studio album, The Pinkprint, which hits shelves on December 15th. Franco, in his third SNL hosting role, will be plugging his role in the new comedy The Interview, which co-stars longtime collaborator Seth Rogen and comes out on Christmas Day.

Charli XCX will release her second studio album, Sucker, on December 16th – three days after her SNL appearance. Freeman will host to promote his starring role in the film sequel The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which hits theaters on December 17th.

And pop sensations One Direction will return for their third appearance on the heels of the group’s fourth studio album, Four, which came out on Monday. Adams will return for her second round as host, promoting the new Tim Burton drama Big Eyes, which is headed for theaters on Christmas Day.

Tomorrow night, Cameron Diaz, who will appear in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical Annie (out December 19th), will host the show. The musical guests will be Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson, along with a “very special guest,” who will perform their newly released collaborative single, “Uptown Funk.”

Rapper Kendrick Lamar stole the show during last week’s episode, delivering a creepy and triumphant performance of his as-yet-untitled new LP’s uplifting first single, “i,” complete with jittery choreography.
