Chris Brown won’t be coming to a city near you anytime soon.

A day before the singer was set to launch his “Between the Sheets” tour, which was to be co-headlined with fellow R&B ladies man Trey Songz, Brown announced he needed to postpone because of legal obligations.

“I would first like to apologize to all the fans and people who have been supporters of me and all the music over the years,” Brown posted to his Instagram account Monday afternoon.

Brown informed fans that the tour hit a snag because he needed to complete the remainder of community service tied to his 2009 felony conviction for assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. The singer said a judge would not grant him the okay to travel and that he only had 100 hours left to finish.

“I promise that I am busting my [butt] doing it everyday until it’s complete,” his statement continued. “This is the most disappointing news I’ve gotten in a while. Everything happens for a reason so I wanted to personally inform my fans.”

The 25-date trek was originally set to kick off on Tuesday in Hampton, Va., and wrap at the Forum in Inglewood on March 8. Tyga, who is issuing a joint album with Brown in February, was also on the bill.

Earlier this month Brown’s probation was revoked after he violated orders by leaving Los Angeles County to perform at a San Jose nightclub when he still had hours left on his community service obligations.

Complicating matters further: Brown’s performance ended with gunfire and five people injured.

Live Nation has yet to announce a new start date for the tour.
