Martina McBride exclusively announced that she has signed a new record deal with Nash Icon Music, a joint venture label between the Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) and Cumulus that will produce new music and live events from Nashville’s most prolific artists over the last 30 years.

“I am beyond thrilled by this opportunity to create new music for my fans. This format is breaking new ground, and I’m proud to be a part of it. Jim and Scott have creative and fresh ideas and I think it’s going to be a blast!” said McBride.

Martina made history with her most recent album Everlasting as the first solo female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart with an independently released and distributed album in the chart’s 50-year history. The project also marks her fifth chart-topping debut. To date, she has sold over 18 million albums, which have included 20 Top 10 singles and six No. 1 hits. She has earned more than 15 major music awards, including four wins for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association. The singer’s Everlasting tour has been well received with sold-out shows across the country and praise from Rolling Stone Country, “It’s familiar music coming from one of the most recognizable voices of any genre, yet with a stage plot unlike anything in McBride’s illustrious 22-year career.” McBride also released her first book, Around The Table, a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice and themed décor inspiration. The artist is expected to release new music later this year and joins inaugural artist Reba on the innovative label’s roster.

“Martina remains one of the most powerful and iconic voices Country music has ever known. We are incredibly proud to have her as a part of our family as she brings new and exciting music to her millions of fans,” said Nash Icon Music General Manager Jim Weatherson.

Separately, Cumulus independently operates 20 Nash Icon radio stations and will soon distribute Nash Icon content to stations nationwide through its wholly owned distribution service Westwood One.
